EMC highlights community sponsorships in Iowa

EMC Insurance highlighted its support for two Iowa community events held during the final week of May, continuing its sponsorship of the EMC DAM to DSM half marathon and the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards.

EMC served as the title sponsor of the EMC DAM to DSM half marathon for the eighth consecutive year. The race, held on May 30, drew more than 5,000 participants and marked the second-largest event in the race’s 47-year history. More than 100 EMC employees volunteered to assemble and distribute race materials, while over 30 company employees took part in the event. Todd Strother, EMC’s executive vice president and chief legal officer, presented medals to top finishers.

The insurer also marked its ninth year as presenting sponsor of the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards, which recognize student performers from more than 110 high schools across the state. EMC employees volunteered behind the scenes at the Des Moines Civic Center to help prepare for the sold-out event.

The sponsorships are part of EMC’s broader community engagement efforts across Iowa.
