Sompo Holdings to rebrand as Sompo Group

Sompo Holdings  announced plans to change its name to Sompo Group, Inc., effective April 1, 2027, subject to shareholder approval at its annual meeting scheduled for June 22, 2026.

The Japanese insurer said the rebranding is intended to strengthen unity across the organization, break down barriers between the holding company and its operating subsidiaries, and accelerate collaboration across its businesses globally. The company added that the change reflects its ambition to enhance corporate value by addressing global social issues and responding to evolving customer needs.

Alongside the proposed name change, Sompo unveiled a new group vision for the next decade: “The vision to unlock possibilities.”

“Under this new Group Vision, the Company will maximize synergies across the entire Group and strive to enhance corporate value over the medium to long term,” Sompo stated.

The company expects the name change to take effect on April 1, 2027.
