Rivian launches AI-powered in-vehicle assistant
Rivian has launched Rivian Assistant, an AI-powered voice assistant available to Connect+ subscribers through its latest software update. Built directly into Rivian vehicles, the assistant can control vehicle functions such as drive modes, ride height, climate settings, and trunk access, while also handling navigation, messaging, troubleshooting, and general knowledge queries.
The assistant is powered by Rivian Unified Intelligence, the company’s new AI foundation designed to personalize the ownership experience and support agentic workflows. Rivian’s first third-party integration is with Google Calendar, allowing drivers to manage schedules and appointments using voice commands.
The rollout is available to compatible Gen 1 and Gen 2 Rivian vehicles.
Rivian also offers auto insurance through Rivian Insurance Services, with policies underwritten by carriers including Nationwide, Progressive, and Cincinnati Insurance. The program uses vehicle and driving data to provide EV-focused coverage and offers bundling options for home, boat, camper, and other vehicles.
