Liberty Mutual experiments with ChatGPT integration for auto quotes

Liberty Mutual  recently tested a ChatGPT integration that allowed users to request auto insurance quote estimates directly within ChatGPT.

Screenshots of the experience showed users asking questions such as “I’d like an auto quote,” “Can you recap my vehicles?” and requests to add drivers to a quote. The integration displayed estimated monthly pricing, vehicle summaries, and driver information before directing users to continue the process on Liberty Mutual’s website.

The onboarding screen described the experience as a Liberty Mutual powered tool within ChatGPT designed to provide “fast, personalized auto insurance quote estimates” using a few user details. Liberty Mutual noted that purchases and policy issuance would still occur on its own platform, while customer service and claims handling would remain with the carrier.

The experience also emphasized data sharing disclosures, stating that information provided in the chat could be shared with Liberty Mutual, affiliates, and service providers for quote generation purposes.

The integration appears to have been removed since first appearing, suggesting the feature may still be in testing or undergoing revisions before a broader rollout.
