MS Amlin establishes new Lloyd’s incidental syndicate

MS Amlin , the Lloyd’s global specialist (re)insurer, has set up an incidental syndicate targeting innovative growth opportunities.

Named s1673 after the year the Mitsui enterprise was founded in Tokyo, the incidental syndicate will support MS Amlin’s recently formed Portfolio Solutions team. This team has been established to capture underwriting opportunities arising from the insurer’s MS&AD global network, as well as fast-follow relationships and business under Lloyd’s innovation and transition codes.

S1673 provides a clear structure for identifying business written through the firm’s Portfolio Solutions team, while enabling underwriters across all lines to accept risks through both s1673 and S2001.

“We are committed finding ways to trade creatively and explore new commercial routes to sustainable, profitable growth in an evolving market. s1673 will support our Portfolio Solutions division, as we leverage our parent group’s international network to access new underwriting opportunities and extend our specialty solutions to new clients globally.” – Martin Burke, MS Amlin’s Chief Underwriting Officer.
