NFP acquires Sherman Insurance Agency

NFP announced the acquisition of Sherman Insurance Agency, a South St. Paul-based brokerage specializing in trucking, commercial, personal, and benefits insurance.

Founded in 1931, Sherman has built a presence serving small and mid-market transportation businesses across the Upper Midwest, with a focus on trucking risk. The acquisition expands NFP’s footprint in the region and strengthens its Transportation and Logistics practice.

As part of the deal, Sherman leaders John Glieden, Kyle King, and Peter Lobe join NFP as senior vice presidents, while Jennifer Carter joins as vice president. The team will report into NFP’s Central region leadership.

The move adds trucking-focused expertise and a longstanding regional client base to NFP’s broader platform, which spans property and casualty, employee benefits, life insurance, and wealth advisory services across North America and Europe.
