Allstate reports $140 million in February CAT losses

Allstate reported estimated catastrophe losses of $140 million in February 2026, or $111 million after tax, bringing total catastrophe losses for the first two months of the year to $315 million, or $249 million after tax.

The insurer’s Protection segment continued to grow, with total policies in force reaching 38.4 million at the end of February, up 0.5% from January and 2.5% year over year. Auto policies increased to 25.6 million (+3.0% YoY), while homeowners policies rose to 7.7 million (+2.5%). Other personal lines saw modest growth, and commercial lines declined 10.2% compared to the prior year.
