Agency Distribution Trends: January 2026
This article highlights key insights from Coverager’s monthly Agency Distribution report, part of a broader analysis of P&C and Life & Health carrier appointments. The full report includes carrier-level and agency-level data across both lines of business.
January’s P&C appointments point to continued growth in embedded distribution, digital agencies, and niche market strategies.
Embedded platforms remain active. Fletch was appointed by Stillwater, likely for renters coverage, distributing insurance through partner ecosystems such as fintech Zolve. Integration depth continues to vary by carrier, with some supporting fully embedded quoting and payment while others rely on redirect-based flows.

Digital comparison and aggregator models also expanded. Jerry, with more than five million customers, was appointed by InsureMax, part of AssuranceAmerica. Coverage.com added Farmers, while NerdWallet’s agency secured another appointment with Progressive.
Several appointments reflect targeted customer strategies:
-
Savvy Insurance Agency added Elephant and Redpoint County Mutual, focusing on personal auto.
-
Sigo Insurance Services expanded with Alinsco, serving Spanish-speaking customers.
-
CoverTree, focused on manufactured homes, added Safeco.
-
Contractor-focused digital agency ContractorNerd was among new appointments for Next Insurance.

Carriers also leaned into ecosystem and affinity distribution. Automaker-affiliated agencies tied to Toyota and Hyundai secured appointments, while Assurant added Resident Solutions for multifamily housing programs.
Wholesale and platform models continued to scale. Acrisure’s digital wholesale platform Wholesure reported high submission volume and multiple new carrier relationships, highlighting growing interest in scalable digital distribution infrastructure.
Overall, January activity reinforces three themes: embedded distribution expansion, increased use of digital acquisition channels, and continued growth in niche and affinity-focused agencies.
