First Mid Insurance Group acquires Downs Insurance Agency

First Mid Insurance Group  has acquired Downs Insurance Agency, expanding its footprint in central Illinois and strengthening its presence in the Decatur market.

Downs Insurance brings expertise in small commercial and personal lines, complementing First Mid’s existing capabilities and supporting its regional growth strategy.

As part of the deal, all Downs Insurance employees, including agency leadership, will join First Mid Insurance Group. First Mid said clients can expect a seamless transition, retaining existing relationship managers while gaining access to a broader set of carrier relationships and resources through First Mid’s platform.
