Crawford & Company announces new operating divisions

Crawford & Company is rolling out a new global operating structure, splitting the business into US Operations and International Operations as it looks to simplify execution and accelerate a more client-centric model.

Effective January 1, 2026, the company will operate under the two-division structure, with Michael Hoberman promoted to CEO of US Operations, reporting to interim President and CEO Bruce Swain. Hoberman will oversee all US businesses, Crawford’s largest market. Canada will shift into International Operations, led by Andrew Bart, CEO of International Operations.

Crawford also named Pat Van Bakel as chief commercial and strategy officer, a new global role reporting to Swain and focused on strategy execution and engagement with major global clients.

As part of the shift, Crawford is further streamlining its US leadership structure. Paul Kottler was promoted to president of US Loss Adjusting, overseeing US Field Operations, Global Technical Services, and edjuster US. Lance Malcolm was named president of US Network Solutions, leading Contractor Connection and Catastrophe Services. Jeffrey Sickles was appointed president of Broadspire in the US, overseeing all TPA operations nationwide.

“These changes continue our journey to a simpler, faster and more client-centric operating model. By aligning our businesses under two global divisions and elevating proven leaders, we are clarifying accountability, strengthening collaboration across geographies and positioning Crawford to move at the speed our markets demand.” – Bruce Swain, Interim President and CEO.

“As part of this streamlined approach, we are promoting leaders who embody our values and hold deep operational expertise. Each brings a proven track record of innovation and operational excellence. With this structure, we are advancing accountability, accelerating decisions and strengthening collaboration in service of growth, quality and a seamless client experience. We are especially proud that these appointments represent promotions from within Crawford.” – Michael Hoberman, CEO of US Operations.
