Softlogic Life secures $15 million loan
Softlogic Life has secured a $15 million long-term loan facility from OP Finnfund Global Impact Fund I and Norfund to support balance sheet strength and fund its next phase of growth.
The capital will be used to expand distribution, upgrade digital platforms, and scale AI-driven initiatives. Softlogic Life said the facility also strengthens its Tier 2 capital, providing additional flexibility as it invests in product accessibility and operational expansion.
Softlogic Life is Sri Lanka’s largest life insurer and has positioned technology as a core part of its strategy. The company recently received the ‘AI Initiative of the Year’ award at the 2025 Asia Insurance Industry Awards, reflecting its focus on automation and data-led underwriting and service capabilities.
OP Finnfund Global Impact Fund I focuses on emerging markets investments that combine financial returns with measurable development impact. Norfund, Norway’s development finance institution, invests in businesses aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth in developing markets.
The transaction comes as Sri Lanka continues its macroeconomic recovery following its 2022 sovereign default, supported by IMF reforms, tourism growth, and stronger remittance flows.
