CFC adds business interruption extension to cyber policy
CFC has launched a new customer business interruption extension to its flagship Cyber Proactive Response policy for SMEs, expanding coverage to include contingent business interruption triggered by a customer’s cyber attack.
The extension is designed to address scenarios where an SME suffers financial loss after a major customer suspends or cancels orders following a cyber incident, highlighting supply chain vulnerabilities exposed by high profile attacks. Available globally by endorsement, the cover targets businesses that rely on a material share of revenue from a single customer and is positioned as particularly relevant for manufacturing and wholesale distribution, though it is open to all sectors.
The addition closes a longstanding protection gap in SME cyber insurance by extending coverage beyond direct cyber events to downstream customer related disruptions.
