Nippon Life to acquire Medical Data Vision
Japanese insurer Nippon Life announced a tender offer to acquire Medical Data Vision, a medical data company. The deal is valued at ~$380 million.
Medical Data Vision, which manages one of the biggest databases of medical information in Japan, has over 50 million health records. The company provides medical data to pharmaceutical companies and hospitals.
By acquiring Medical Data Vision, Nippon Life aims to establish health data and health-data analytics capabilities for future healthcare related ventures. In addition, by integrating AI and other tech, Nippon Life will also pursue the creation of new customer value propositions, including preventive medicine and health support services.
