Aquiline backs Clearwater UW

Aquiline Capital Partners has acquired a majority interest in London-based specialty MGA Clearwater UW , backing plans to scale the business through both organic expansion and acquisitions. Clearwater focuses on specialty underwriting supported by proprietary digital capabilities, with ambitions to build a broader, institutional MGA platform spanning multiple lines and markets.

Aquiline partner Daniel Flueckiger said the firm sees strong momentum in Clearwater’s model, citing its underwriting expertise and technology-driven approach.

The investment is expected to deepen carrier and broker relationships while enhancing underwriting capabilities as Clearwater accelerates its growth strategy.
