Allianz Life launches women-focused cancer and health coverage in Taiwan
Allianz Life Taiwan has introduced two new products designed specifically for women: a cancer term policy that enhances coverage for cancers more common in women, and a one-year health rider that addresses pregnancy- and menopause-related risks.
The new Cherish Cancer Term Health Insurance provides lump-sum benefits upon a first cancer diagnosis and pays an extra 0.5x for severe cancers that disproportionately affect women, such as breast and cervical cancer. Coverage is available from birth to age 55 and can continue to age 84.
To support women at different life stages, Allianz also introduced the Cherish Health Protection Supplement, a rider covering nine specific pregnancy complications and offering benefits for menopause-related procedures such as treatments for urinary incontinence. The rider can be purchased up to age 65 and renewed through age 85, with payouts of up to 200x or 150x the insured amount depending on the condition.
Allianz says the products respond to rising rates of gynecological and breast cancers in Taiwan and growing risks tied to later maternal age. As part of the launch, Allianz will donate 3% of new premiums from the cancer policy through the end of 2025 to a micro-insurance premium fund supporting low-income households.
