Coalition acquires Wirespeed

Coalition has acquired Wirespeed , a six-person team that provides an automated managed detection and response (MDR) platform to strengthen its cyber risk management capabilities.

The move aims to shorten response times from hours to seconds by combining Wirespeed’s probabilistic AI engine with Coalition’s existing cybersecurity and insurance tools. Wirespeed’s system automates initial containment, reducing the risk of escalation before human intervention is needed.

Beyond speed, the acquisition enhances consistency and usability. Built to ISO 2859 standards, Wirespeed delivers threat verdicts in under two seconds and integrates with workplace tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams to streamline communication.

Coalition expects the integration to reduce alert noise by 99.99%, lower operating costs, and make enterprise-grade security accessible to smaller businesses. The Wirespeed team, including co-founders Tim MalcomVetter and Jake Reynolds, will join Coalition to lead its security operations and engineering efforts.

Wirespeed, founded in 2024 and based in St. Louis, Missouri, doesn’t disclose pricing, noting only that “every security team is different.” Based on the archived April 2025 pricing page, Wirespeed charged $1,149 per month USD for up to 100 employees for its MDR service – though this should be taken with a grain of salt.
