Talanx exits Argentina and Uruguay with sale to BARBUSS

Talanx  has sold its Argentinian and Uruguayan subsidiaries—HDI Seguros S.A. in Argentina and HDI Seguros S.A. in Uruguay—to BARBUSS, a global holding company offering insurance and claims solutions.

The divestment supports Talanx’s strategy to focus on profitable growth in larger Latin American markets. Earlier this year, the group exited Ecuador.

In 2024, HDI Seguros Argentina recorded gross premiums of €86 million with 148 employees, while the Uruguayan operation generated €36 million with 46 employees. Talanx retains a 10% stake in the Uruguayan entity, pending regulatory approval.
