Pumpkin introduces PumpkinNow™

Pumpkin Petcare has launched PumpkinNow™, a real-time urgent pay service that allows qualified customers to receive up to 90% of eligible veterinary expenses within 15 minutes for treatments costing $1,000 or more.

The offering addresses a key pain point for insured pet owners: large out-of-pocket costs and delayed reimbursements during critical care situations. Through PumpkinNow, customers can get funds via direct deposit before paying their vet bill, provided their bank supports real-time payments.

To support faster adjudication, Pumpkin collects pet medical records and banking information shortly after enrollment. A dedicated claims team then expedites approval at the point of care.

Since 2020, Pumpkin has paid more than $60 million in claims above $1,000, with high-cost veterinary bills occurring every six seconds according to cited statistics. The company reports that 61% of pet insurance buyers cite out-of-pocket cost concerns as a main purchase driver.

Pumpkin, launched in 2020, offers pet insurance underwritten by Independence American Insurance Company or United States Fire Insurance Company, covering treatments by any licensed veterinary provider in the U.S. and Canada.
