Arbella names Paul Brady as next CEO, succeeding John Donohue
Arbella Insurance announced that its Executive Vice President and Head of Claim, Paul Brady, will become Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2025. He will succeed John Donohue, who will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Foundation (Foundation).
Donohue co-founded Arbella in 1988 with the late Massachusetts Attorney General Frank Bellotti and has served as Chairman since its inception and CEO for 24 years. With a background in law, policy, and marketing, he became a well-known industry leader across New England. He also played a key role in Arbella’s strategy, corporate policy, and philanthropy, overseeing its Foundation since 2005. He will remain Chairman, continuing to support Arbella’s culture and growth.
Brady, a 15-year Arbella veteran, is currently EVP and Head of Claim and has held leadership roles including CIO and SVP of Operations. Starting his career in IT at Liberty Mutual, his tech-driven approach positions him to lead Arbella into its next phase.
“As I assume the role of CEO, I’d like to recognize all that John and our co-founder, Frank Bellotti, have done to build this great organization. Arbella’s unwavering mission, commitment to customer service, and our community-oriented culture have made it a best place to work for 16 consecutive years. I am honored to lead our team in delivering exceptional value to our agents and customers while we continue to build a business that puts people first.” – Brady.
“It has been a privilege to serve as founder and CEO of Arbella and I am confident that our company will continue to thrive under Paul’s leadership. He brings broad technical experience, exceptional client service skills and the ability to lead a highly engaged organization. But most importantly, Paul is a cultural champion who strongly believes in empowering employees, giving back to the community and selling our products through independent agents.” – Donohue.
