HSBC shuts down Zing

HSBC has announced the closure of its multi-currency payments app, Zing (app) , following a shift in strategic business priorities. Initially launched as a platform to enable international payments and currency management for retail customers, Zing allowed users to hold, spend, and transfer funds in multiple currencies.

Despite its global ambitions and plans for expansion into Asia, the Middle East, and the EU, HSBC has decided to sunset the app.

Zing will cease operations by May 22, 2025, with users encouraged to transfer their funds or utilize their balances before account closures begin.
