Somerset Re appoints Riley LaTour as Chief Risk Officer

Somerset Reinsurance , a reinsurer in the life insurance and annuity market, has announced Riley LaTour as its new Chief Risk Officer (CRO), effective immediately. In his new role, LaTour will oversee the company’s risk management strategies and operations.

Previously serving as Somerset Re’s Head of Risk Analytics, LaTour led quantitative risk assessments and supported the CRO in implementing the firm’s risk management strategy. Before joining Somerset Re, he held risk management roles at Kemper Corporation and Securian Financial Group, focusing on developing and maintaining effective risk frameworks.

LaTour is a Fellow and Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst of the Society of Actuaries and holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science with Honors from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Based in Bermuda, he brings significant expertise to his new role.
