MassMutual backs NeighborShare

NeighborShare, a nonprofit enabling direct person-to-person charitable giving, has expanded into Greater Boston. The organization partnered with eight local nonprofits, including Women’s Money Matters, Bridges Homeward, HarborCOV, La Colaborativa, NOAH, Roca, Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment Center, and YouthBuild Boston, with funding support from the MassMutual Foundation.

“We’re thrilled to bring NeighborShare to Boston. Our platform is already connecting neighbors in need with those who can help in 26 states across the country, and we’re excited to work with our new partners to address critical unmet needs in the Boston community. The support from the MassMutual Foundation has been instrumental in seeding this expansion and we will be seeking out more Boston-based supporters to expand our number of nonprofit partners and ultimately neighbors served.” – Kelli Kreps, executive director of NeighborShare.

“Building stronger communities is at the forefront of everything that the MassMutual Foundation does. Throughout our work with NeighborShare, we have seen how their vision of creating more direct pathways to charitable giving directly contributes to the strength of a community. NeighborShare’s recent expansion into Boston represents a vital step in realizing that vision by continuing to foster financial security for those who need it most. We look forward to continuing our partnership and are committed to further increasing financial resilience across Massachusetts.” – Dennis Duquette, president & CEO of the MassMutual Foundation.
