Zurich Canada launches apprentice program with Seneca Polytechnic

Zurich Canada has launched its new Apprenticeship Program, an initiative that combines education and hands-on work experience. This program comes just in time for the back-to-school season, with the first cohort of selected applicants beginning their journey in September 2024.

The Zurich Apprenticeship Program provides candidates with a fully-funded enrollment in the Business – Insurance diploma program at Seneca Polytechnic. This two-year program blends academic coursework with practical work rotations at Zurich Canada, giving participants an immersive experience in the insurance industry.

“We are proud to partner with Seneca Polytechnic to launch the Zurich Apprenticeship Program. These two-year journeys will allow participants to complete a diploma while launching a corporate career in the global insurance industry. This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing future leaders by providing both academic and practical experience. We look forward to seeing our first cohort start this September and to their future contributions to our industry.” – Elizabeth McSavaney, Head of Human Resources, Zurich Canada.

Under this program, participants receive a full scholarship covering tuition, fees, and books, allowing them to complete their Ontario College Diploma while gaining real-world experience. They will follow a hybrid schedule, balancing part-time work with coursework at Seneca, and will have access to various student support services, including career planning, financial aid, and advising.

Graduates will also have the opportunity to earn eight credits toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and secure a full-time position at Zurich Canada, further solidifying the program’s value in building a strong talent pipeline for the insurance sector.
