AAA Is $30 a Month Cheaper Than Average (83% Plan to Renew)

No company can make every single customer 100% happy, but AAA comes close. Based on a customer survey collection, Clearsurance.com announced recently that AAA insurance gets 4.12 stars out of five.

Clearsurance.com also shared these statistics:

  • 83% of customers are likely to renew their policy
  • 84% of customers would recommend AAA to their friends
  • 80% of customers are satisfied with their claims experience

Favorable ratings of 80% or more in the insurance world are exemplary.

AAA Auto Insurance

While AAA is best known for roadside assistance, it also offers auto insurance plans across the country, and its rates are as much as $30 less per month than the national average.

AAA membership allows access to car insurance policies, roadside assistance benefits, and a nationwide network of discounts at hotels, rental car agencies, museums, and establishments offering various activities.

Auto insurance options from AAA range from liability to full coverage and other optional coverages like GAP insurance and rental car reimbursement.

Liability insurance is required by nearly every state, and customers can find minimum coverage options and adequate liability limits through AAA. Individuals financing or leasing a vehicle will need full coverage, including comprehensive and collision insurance. Those who own their car outright may opt for full coverage.

AAA Third Party Ratings

Customer surveys are one avenue for compiling third-party ratings. Another way is through A.M. Best’s financial ratings, where they received an “excellent” rating. That indicates AAA has a solid financial base and will be able to pay customer claims.

The Better Business Bureau gave AAA an A+ rating. When customers aren’t happy with their experience with AAA, the company prioritizes resolving issues.

J.D. Power publishes an annual report based on customer satisfaction surveys. Their results are split into regions. While AAA performs above average in the south and western areas, their customers are less happy than average in the northeastern region.

Melanie Musson, a nationally recognized car insurance expert with Clearsurance.com, reminds drivers, “Don’t forget to ask friends and family about their car insurance recommendations and experiences. Those reviews can help drivers understand the local car insurance options.”

AAA Insurance Rates

While the average AAA customer pays less than the average car insurance rate in the U.S., some people are a better fit for coverage than others.

AAA is best for low-risk drivers. Low-risk drivers are those who don’t file claims or rarely do. They don’t have a history of traffic tickets, DUIs, or accidents.

Demographic groups that can expect to pay higher than average rates with AAA are as follows:

  • Drivers who are new to driving
  • Drivers who have a DUI on their record
  • Drives with a history of causing accidents
  • Drivers with a history of filing claims

AAA might still be a good fit for people who fit these descriptions, but they should be sure to compare quotes with several other insurance providers.

AAA Discounts

AAA operates through several local organizations, so their discounts vary based on region. However, some discounts are offered nationwide, like bundling and good driver discounts.

Other discounts that may be available are as follows:

  • Claims-free discount
  • Defensive driving discount
  • Good student discount
  • Military discount
  • Paperless billing discount

Potential customers can find out what discounts are available by contacting their local AAA organization.

AAA Lines of Insurance

While lines of coverage vary by region, AAA offers several types of insurance in addition to auto insurance.

They have options for home, rental, and condo insurance. They also write policies for travel insurance. Those planning a wedding may be able to find wedding insurance coverage through AAA.

AAA Compared to Other Insurers

Customers are generally satisfied with AAA’s auto insurance services, but situations vary, and what’s best for one person may not be suitable for someone else.

The best way to get started shopping for car insurance is to complete a quote comparison. Once customers identify the cheapest coverage options they need, they can research deeper into those companies to determine if they’re financially stable, reputable, and customer-centered.
