Insurance Bureau of Canada launches DASH

Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) has launched industry-directed policy and claims information system, DASH (Driver and Auto Search History). DASH is IBC’s newest industry product, joining VINLink, CLEAR, HCAI and the Insurance Validation Program.

DASH provides detailed reports on a consumer’s auto insurance history including policies, claims and other relevant information used to provide an insurance quote. It is available to private auto insurers and brokers licensed to sell insurance in Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon.

“We’re proud to have collaborated with over 90% of the P&C insurance industry in the creation of DASH. With industry direction, we developed a tool that addresses key pain points in the current driver reporting environment and offers an unmatched user experience for industry professionals. This is truly an industry product – by insurers, for insurers. Rather than a pay-per-transaction system, DASH utilizes a subscription licensing model where insurers and brokers can pull the reports required and subsequently offer as many quotes as needed to drivers. We feel this model, along with DASH’s seamless Application Programming Interface (API) integration, single sign-on authentication and rapid reporting system, delivers a best-in-class product for subscribers.” – James Fordham, Vice President, Industry Information Services & Chief Information Officer, IBC.

IBC offers access to DASH via the official DASH Portal and through an API that integrates with an insurer’s underwriting system. For subscribers and users, IBC provides training and has made available reference documentation, a user manual, brokerage tools and a webinar.
