Embea raises €4 million
German life insurance startup Embea has raised €4 million in a funding round led by Atlantic Labs and astorya.vc. Ladder founder and CEO Jamie Hale also participated in the round with several other individuals.
Founded in 2022, the startup offers critical illness insurance that pays out in the event of cancer, heart attack or stroke. Embea offers its product to consumers and partners via an embedded solution.
Coverage is provided by Quantum Leben, a European insurer.
Embea will use the funding to expand its embedded life insurance platform and add new products.
“We are delighted to have secured this funding showing that the future of insurtech is far from dead. By taking life insurance embedded, we enable underserved groups to access existential coverage while helping our partners to generate additional income.” – Co-founder and CEO of Embea, Johannes Beche.
