blip launches in the UK
blip, a new insurance startup targeting small businesses, has launched in the UK.
Led by former AmTrust employee Gary Ross, blip looks to serve businesses with 5 employees or less.
The startup partnered with Pro MGA Solutions, a London-based MGA incubator and program platform, and claims to return some of the premiums to policyholders if it made a profit. Further, coverage is underwritten by Wakam.
“We are using our digital-first platform to cut costs and pass on the savings to our policy holders through our profit-sharing model. We want to empower our customers and build back trust between policyholder and provider through greater transparency and sharing in the profits. Exceptional service is a given. We are taking insurance back to first principles, where the losses of the few are paid by the premiums of the many.” – Gary Ross, Founder and CEO blip.
