MassMutual introduces new wellness program

MassMutual has recently released an app for Apple and Android devices ahead of a new wellness program it plans to make available.

The program, Wellness-Enhanced Lifestyle and Longevity (WELL), offers cash incentives for those demonstrating a “healthy lifestyle” and is available to select customers free of charge.

According to the insurer, the WELL Rider will be offered to customers with a term life policy that was issued on or after September 5, 2023. MassMutual term policies marketed as HavenLife and offered through Haven Life Insurance Agency are not eligible. The company also states that the cash rewards program will be available for a limited time – “After the WELL Rider is activated, the benefit will be in effect for 2 years from your insurance policy issue date, or longer at MassMutual’s discretion.”

Users activating the program will need to download the LivingWell app and connect their fitness tracker in order to earn rewards. The app tracks daily active energy, steps, and sleep duration.

Users can earn a cash reward of up to 5% of their annual insurance policy premium, for a maximum of $5 per week.
