Monzo switches travel insurance provider

London-based banking startup Monzo is announcing Zurich as its new travel insurance partner.

Zurich is replacing AXA, which has been a Monzo partner since 2019, offering worldwide travel insurance to Monzo customers with a Premium subscription.

According to a blog post, customers told Monzo that making a travel insurance claim “wasn’t always as easy or as fast as it should be,” leading the startup to switch providers.

With Zurich, customers will be able to start a claim and request a travel certificate in the Monzo app. In the future, customers will be able to submit and track a claim in the app.

The new experience is powered by Qover.

AXA will continue to provide coverage until August 2nd 2023.
