Recall: Hippo is a CA-based digital MGA that offers home insurance via a partnership with Topa Insurance. It launched in April, raised $14M since inception and considers Swiss Re a partner. One of the company’s backer is RPM Ventures, which previously backed connected home technology developer Roost. Same Roost that has a partnership in place with Hippo that sees to it that each new policyholder will receive a free Roost Smart Water Leak Detector whenever they sign up for a new home policy with Hippo Insurance.
