Zurich names Chief Automation Officer
Zurich Group Germany announced that it’s the first insurer in Germany to create a Chief Automation Officer (CAO) role. On September 1, 2022, Thomas Schlüßel (37) will take over where his area of responsibility is focused on the advancement of robotics-assisted process automation.
Schüßel comes from AXA, where he has held various positions with a focus on robotics and process automation since 2007.
Schüßel will report to Horst Nussbaumer, Chief Claims and Operating Officer, Zurich Group Germany. “We are proud to be the first company in the industry to have a CAO on board. With the new position, we want to underline the relevance of the topics of automation and digitization for our business,” says Nussbaumer. “In addition, we reinforce our ambition to be a leading insurer in this field. I am pleased that we were able to win Thomas Schlüßel for this task and I wish him every success in the challenges ahead.”
