Online car search company CarDekho is set to enter the auto insurance industry now that its parent company Girnar Software has received proper licenses to establish Girnar Insurance Brokers. “While we were working with our insurance partners so far, we weren’t able to provide an end-to-end experience, because one part of the experience was owned by them,” said Ankur Agarwal, CEO, Car Owners Vertical at Girnar Software. By ‘insurance partners’ think: Coverfox and PolicyBazaar. Bottom Line: the insurance site is scheduled to launch in two months and policies will be underwritten by Iffco Tokio, HDFC Ergo, Royal Sundaram, Universal Sompo, and The New India Assurance Co.; to name a few.
