According to the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, the average American drives 13,476 miles each year. Metromile customers in major cities drive an average of 6,000 miles each year, less than half of the national average! Here’s a breakdown:

Most Popular Day of the Week to Drive

Many Metromile customers are weekend warriors. During the week, they get around in a variety of different ways — public transit, biking, walking and rideshare — but on the weekends they use their cars to get out of town, drive to the grocery store or drop the kids off at soccer.
