Community Profiles: Michael Albert

It’s not every day that you get a chance to learn about two innovators who love chicken. Robert C. Baker, a member of the American Poultry Hall of Fame, was an inventor and Cornell University professor who traveled the world in the name of chicken innovation. He introduced new ways to consume chicken, which back then was traditionally sold whole, and with over 50 poultry innovations, including the invention of the chicken nugget, Robert brought convenience to the chicken industry.

Michael Albert, the man who just bought this because he’s not sure if he wants to sit or stand, loves a good bird. His favorite dish – half a chicken, fries and coleslaw – is made by El Pollo Rico – a charcoal broiled chicken place located in his hometown, Arlington, VA. Michael’s love for chicken could be attributed to Breaking Bad’s Los Pollos Hermanos – Gus Fring’s chicken restaurant which provided money-laundering and logistics for illegal activities.

Based in Boston, MA, Michael is having fun as the cofounder of Ask Kodiak, a company making commercial insurance not suck – even when you’re looking for chicken coverage appetite.

When Michael visits NYC, he stops by Tompkins Sq. Bagels (aka ‘cream cheese innovator’), and if you’re thinking of inviting him to lunch, Brine Chicken is just a few stops away.
