Community Profiles: Richard Verdin

One of the most popular terms in insurance today is customer engagement, but what does it actually mean? In March 2006, the Advertising Research Foundation announced the first definition of customer engagement as “turning on a prospect to a brand idea enhanced by the surrounding context.” However, this definition was criticized by some for being too broad and in 2008, Forrester defined customer engagement as “creating deep connections with customers that drive purchase decisions, interaction, and participation, over time.”

Richard Verdin, Managing Director at RGAX Europe, Middle East & Africa, is working on multiple initiatives focused around digital Life & Health insurance solutions, incorporating a differentiated and new customer engagement. If this encourages you to pitch your engaging solution to Richard, you might want to keep in mind that he just made a purchase from Peloton, a company that has taken customer engagement to a new level.

Originally from Wantage, a market town near Oxford “where the Great are born,” Richard can be found in London working at a great place – RGAX – the transformation engine of RGA, which presents growth opportunities for employees unlike any other company he’s ever worked for. The other great thing about RGAX is its location –  5 Aldermanbury Square is surrounded by great tapas places – Richard’s favorite food.

When he’s not working he’s getting ready for the last season of Silicon Valley, a show about smart, busy people making stuff happen, which happens to be the thing he likes about NYC.
